Welcome to my funny little art studio!
ReadyPaintFire began life as a Paint Your Own Pottery Studio, way back in 1998 in a small house in Breckenridge, Colorado. It was loved by locals and tourists alike, and many a kitchen cupboard still hides the mugs, plates and handprints of those early years.
In 2009, I spied a small business for sale, and just KNEW I could bring my artistic talents, service oriented skills and zest for the ski-town life to revitalize the Studio. I had just spent over a decade as an artist, specializing in murals, faux finishes, specialty plasters, and large scale glass mosaic installations. I knew my diverse artistic background would allow me to slowly expand the art projects that ReadyPaintFire had to offer. First we added Canvas Painting to the Pottery options, including RPF’s fun and social “Canvas Painting Party” nights. The addition of the wine and beer license helped these evenings become a staple of Breckenridge night life! The next year we added our mosaic glass projects, followed by Glass Fusing and Slumping the following year. ReadyPaintFire became a lively, fun indoor activity favorite for many returning guests and families, with lots of different art project options year round.
In 2013 RPF opened a sister studio in neighboring Keystone resort. Located at Kidtopia HQ in River Run Village we offered pottery and canvas painting, mainly for the kids. It was a great way to establish our “Art is Fun!” motto and introduce ourselves to the families of Keystone, and the neighboring towns of Dillon and Silverthorne. And now in 2017 we are ‘growing up’ again! With huge support from Vail Resorts we are relocating our Keystone Studio to Lakeside Village. A beautiful brand new Studio overlooking the water, with the mountain towering in the background. We know our Keystone locals will be happy to see us here – and even happier with the fantastic NEW ART PROJECTS we will be offering. In addition to the pottery and canvas painting, come and try Glass Painting, Metal & Leather Stamped Jewelry, and Fused Dichroic Glass pendant making. We’re also putting in a bar, offering drinks and snacks, a little ‘creative juice’ to get you in the mood for making great art!
Through all the fun and hard work we know that our locals, our visitors, our families of friends that have grown over the years, are our number one priority. You arrive nervous looking for something to do, and leave a few hours later having relaxed, embraced your artistic side, sung along to our great music, enjoyed a hot chocolate, or a spiced hot wine, engaged creatively with your families and friends and been well looked after by our helpful staff members. We’re here to help you get the most out of the time you can spend with us, and then take great care of processing your pieces through our kins so that you are simply delighted with the finished project. We see many of you come back throughout the week to keep playing and creating. And we’re happy to see you back! Same week, or year after year.
We hope to provide a relaxing, social, creative space that is fun for all ages. Please let us know how we can do even better and keep you coming back! Art is fun, and we’ll do our best to make it one of the best, most memorable experiences of your vacation.
Thanks for supporting our funny little art studio,
Sincerely, Bethany Smith and the fabulous RPF Girls, without who’s hard work, great attitudes and lively personalities, this little business wouldn’t be anywhere near as much fun!
